SEVIS Activation

Within the first week of beginning your training at your U.S. Host Company you must complete the online check- in below in order for us to validate your visa and activate your program in the SEVIS system. Failure to validate your visa in a timely manner will automatically change your SEVIS status to “no-show” or “invalid” which can result in cancellation or termination of your J-1 program. Therefore it is extremely important that you complete this online check-in during the first week of your internship or training.

If you don’t possess a personal phone number, please use the phone number of the hotel or rental office. For hotel stays, please include your room number. In addition, please use this form to report any changes referring to your training program and your host company.

Please note: The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) allows you to enter the United States on your J-1 visa 30 days prior to the start of your program (the program start date listed on your DS-2019 form). Furthermore, while you may arrive in the U.S. early, this online check-in form is due only after you have started your training program at your host company.
